Man, the Women's Bracket has been hacked to shreds.

The Golden Girls are no more and a lot of good vet players have been smacking it up to snatch the crown.

With the Kerri Walsh out, Misty-May Treanor is playing with Nicole Branagh and the Elaine Youngs/Rachel Wacholder Scott pairing still lacking chemistry; there is a lot of in room in the field for a new champion to be steal the big checks.

For the first time in four years the finals have been again four different teams.

Case in point, Dianne DeNecochea and Brittany Hochevar faced off against Jenny-Johnson Jordan and Annett Davis faced off in Santa Barbara.  These two teams have been around for years and to my knowledge have a handful of tourney victories between the two of them.  WHAT? No Jen Kessy and April Ross?  No, they got knocked out in the contender's bracket by #9 Decochea and Hochevar !  It was a quick battle in the finals with Davis and Jordan taking them out.

In Ft. Lauderdale the new pairing of Misty May-Treanor and Nicole Branagh pounded the compaetition as expected. However, the pairing of Angie Akers and Tyra Turner rose over Lima and Minello (who had thunked Elaine Young and Rachel Scott). They had to face off against May-Treanor/Branagh. Sure, predictably they dropped it two but things are getting mixed up.

And now, in CHINA, Jen Kessy and April Ross just took the championships. My world of AVP consistency is rocked.
