Roughly ten days ago, Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh collapsed in embarrassing style to the Chinese team. As Nicole summed it up, “This was not the match in which to have a bad day.” They were served up and left for dead. I found it sad that the (possibly) retiring EY’s last chance summer dance could have been her worst day on the sand. Going into the Olympics they had been limping, obviously exhausted from the schedule. Jen Boss and April Ross had been giving them a shellbackering in the previous two tourneys.

I should have known better than to think that of Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh. Today they were in Mason,. Ohio in front one of the largest crowds ever for an AVP event.

The number one question I have been asked lately is “Why do the women wear bikinis at the beach volleyball events?” This is usually accompanied by a sneer that implies that I only watch the sport for the T&A.

To which I always respond “You mean their uniforms? You don’t ask ‘Why does a ballplayer wear stirrups?’ It’s part of the uniform. 

My girlfriend and my best gal pal have both put me through the grinder on the objectification of women in sports. .It has been a dizzying onslaught of Platonic argument after argument that I simply can’t win.

Do Kerri Walsh and and Misty May realize that this dumbfuck would drill for oil on every stop of the AVP tour if he could?

Kerri and Misty-- STOP HANGING OUT WITH THIS GUY! It's bad for the sport! Now granted down in the OC You will see Pro-Bush stuff and I know part of the fan base are Republicans. But why in the hell do this have to hang out with this guy? 

His obvious frat boy approach to the sport is apparent in these pictures. KUDOS to Elaine Young and Nicole Branagh for never making an appearance with this jackass. GO B.Y.!

The girls of summer have finally made it back to the states. For the first time since slamming sand in Huntington, the top seeds have made it back… to Brooklyn and Long Beach.

And yes, it is a little too late for Team Crackpot.
